I (F 22) and my husband (M 22) have 2 beautiful kids (F 5 and M 1) who are the best part of my life. I got pregnant with my first baby at 17 and moved in with my husband and his family at 18. My daughter looks a lot like me, and people have always commented on how similar we look. My mother in law has always supported me and has been such a huge help with the kids.
I am half asian (My father was Japanese and Korean mix) yet many people have no idea until i tell them as I am white passing. I have always introduced myself as a European because I am not in touch with my asian heritage, and also because my father is not part of my life anymore and I don't like to talk about him. My mother in law knows this and my race thank fully isn't important to her.
However, as my daughter is getting older is it getting very clear she is part asian. She has small, sharp eyes and tan skin. Of course, she is beautiful and nothing about her looks worries us since we knew there would be a chance her asian genes would "shine through" however my mother in law has commented a few times that she might not be my husbands as before him I always had a thing for asian men.
About a week ago, my mother in law made a large dinner and invited us over to eat. She sat our entire family (children included) down at the dining table and asked if we would be able to do a paternity test to find out about my daughters heritage. I told my mother in law that she was part Korean, part Japanese and part german thinking nothing of it, but my mother in law asked me if I was sure and then said my daughter looks "too Chinese." I was shocked and asked my mother in law what she meant, and it was then my mother in law told me that she didn't think the baby was my husbands and that she wanted to do a DNA test to make sure.
She said this right in front of my daughter who is smart enough to know what is going on, and immediately started asking questions. I was furious and called out my mother in law for being rude and embarrassing me and then told her I has nothing to prove and if she didn't think her granddaughter was hers she didn't have to be in her life.
My husband and I left straight away and have not contacted her since, but my father in law has been coming to our door, telling us we overreacted and if I would just take the test this would all be over but I feel that would affect my pride as not just a person, but as a wife and mother.
So, Am I the asshole?

I have a stream of objects and I need to compare if the current object is not the same as the previous and in this case emit a new value. I found distinctUntilChanged operator should do exactly what I want, but for some reason, it never emits value except the first one. If I remove distinctUntilChanged values are emitted normally.

I am a huge fan of making the most out of build mechanics in any game where they’re present, and so I’ve made a couple for the 3 survivors I’ve played with, and I want to hear how you’re all developing your slayers. But for me:
For Ryan, my first playthrough, I went for a health-trade build. Since Ryan gets increased toughness on block, and gains health by knocking down enemies, imo the easiest way to regain health in the game, I went full into the autophage skills that take your health in exchange for big gameplay changes, like adding ignite to your slam, etc. which all culminates into big ability combos that drain 75% of my health, quickly recuperated just by doing the aforementioned combo.
For Bruno, in my opinion the trickiest and most unique survivor, I went full into crit damage and attack speed, getting a few perfect dodges and a slide attack nets me some pretty blinding speed that can just churn through basically anything. For anyone on the fence about Bruno, I am convinced he’s the best character to play on a second playthrough, his backstab mechanic is a lot of fun to play around, but his low health takes some getting used to.
And for Carla, I felt that I really underused fury mode, and I felt her cards and stats were perfect for a fury mode build, not really much to say about this one as it’s still a WIP, but I’m getting there and it feels right.

The title says it all. We have known each other for 5+ years. I don't know how to get over her. I get jealous when she finds celebrities attractive, which I'm very well-aware is stupid asf. She knows about my feelings and she says that she knows that we're both aware how precious what we already have is, and she can't get into a relationship because she thinks she's bad at that. She always makes it about herself. She says she loves me A LOT and cares for me and tbh it shows. She says she purposely stays away from romantic and/or sexual relationships because she knows she would mess up so she doesn't want it to happen. She has said even if it happens between us she's not sure if we'd be happy because she thinks she sucks at that. She lights up my whole world and makes me feel safe and happy and special. She tells me how I make her happy and feel safe and special. She never makes me feel like I'm not her type or something, she always makes it about herself, but I know it's not about that. Once she is well-settled and is doing good in her career, she would definitely date someone, someone she is into and there's no way it will ever be me. So, I really want to get over her. Instead of being heartbroken that the love of MY life is with someone else. But I just am stuck and it hurts to try to move on and fall out of love. I turn down every other girl and she knows it and she wants me to get over her and find "someone better" because she thinks she's not "good enough" for me, and she wants me to be okay. Callie Sadecki - The kid has been having bombs dropped all over the place. Her life went from that of a normal bratty teenager to finding out Mom's a cheater who killed her boyfriend, she has a gun that she stole from a carjacker, there was a brother who died, her date turned out to be a cop that's been preying on her, and then dad brings her to a cult commune where she goes looking for mom only to find her being hunted by women in masks. She doesn't know these other women or what the heck she walked into. I bet she's glad she took that gun though.
I can think of others but it's more fun if you join me.

My (28f) boyfriend (28m) and I went out with a few friends of his after work. One of his friends, Anthony (30m), used to be coworkers with him and still is coworkers with my brother, Jesse (30m). Anthony has always been an outward asshole, one of those guys that will push buttons and "never truly means it" according to my boyfriend. Before tonight, I had him in the neutral category if not slightly disliked. Tonight, however, as we were out, he decided to bring up how he thinks my brother Jesse is gay. This is constant work conversation for them, I have intimate knowledge of these interactions as Jesse and I have talked before about how brutally he is ridiculed at work and is the butt of every gay joke in the shop (these are construction type guys). I can see the hurt on his face and know him so well that it hurts me too. When Anthony started joking I ignored him but he continued to say "no for real, Jesse is gay! Have you seen his hair?!?! Here, let me show you photos of this guy he looks like" with me directly there. Jesse was not even there so I'm not sure why the conversation came up other than it was an opportunity for Anthony to be a dick and claim he was just being funny. I'm the younger sister but I've always been very protective of Jesse. He has the kindest heart and has been screwed over by women so many times that he has given up and keeps to himself even though he is lonely. I got upset at Anthony but told my boyfriend I didn't want him to say anything to Anthony for fear it would make the bullying worse at work for Jesse. At the next bar we went to, my boyfriend and I got into a heated discussion about Anthony and his assholery. I was fed up with him even though he hadn't said anything else about Jesse. I told my boyfriend Anthony was a bully and an asshole and if he said one more word about Jesse I'd kick him in the nuts. BF got upset about this and said why can't I just relax and let it go, I said if his sister was being called a whore repeatedly by someone I called one of my best friends he would feel the same way. (It made sense in my brain). I stormed out and said "I'm done with Anthony, he's an asshole, I don't know why you keep defending him, I'm effing done" and walked out. BF said that Anthony is just that way on his exterior and that I'm being too sensitive and Jesse should stand up for himself. In a perfect world, Jesse would stand up for himself but he goes along with the jokes to not get hurt more I think. Either way, I deeply despise Anthony and don't want anything to do with him. They became best friends through the job MY BROTHER got my BF after I had started dating him. Tomorrow we are going to discuss what to do about the fact that I can't STAND Anthony and think he's a bully but BF is close with him. Honestly I don't want them to be friends unless Anthony can stop being such a dick to everyone in the name of "tough exterior" because I don't want to put up with him and have to see him all the time. Am I the asshole for asking my BF to reconsider his friendship? And what do I do if he wants to be close friends with him still?

Came home for a nap at 3. Was starting a headache and it was slow anyway.
Laying down for my nap, I see a semi-decent double pop. Lock my phone and take an hour long nap. When I get up, whomever accepted it, removed the wrong order. The order that was left behind was the smaller order with the higher tip.
Fortuitous for me. She’s one of my favs. Super easy to shop for, I know her preferences, and I know her dietary needs. 14/21 Nothing heavy. 3.9 miles pay was $24.39, with $17.28 of that being the tip. Why no boost 🤷🏽‍♀️. Mostly produce. Shopped and delivered in 24 minutes.

I am literally sobbing. This story. This show. This experience. means so much to me 🥹. I honestly didn’t know quite how they would wrap this season up (because I felt a few decisions were misguided), but this episode was beyond a home run. This show has tugged on almost every aspect of my being. Though, I am a twenty something proud black woman, I have an affinity for the “simpler” (more racist) but definitely more aesthetic times of the 60s. The class. The jazz. The gravitas. The quick cadence & playful banter. I love just about everything in the Hollywood’s idealized 60’s except the the year my father was born (I kid 😅). But honestly, in addition to my inclination of the shows artistic direction; so much of Midge’s story has had happened to me.
I fell into music after a horrendous breakup. After nursing a boyfriends dream to rap. After being more dedicated and more disciplined and more neurotic about his passion than he ever was. We had a “mutual uncoupling”. And I tumbled into the same situation playfully and angrily at an open mic. & It just clicked. Like everything in my life had been building to that moment - yet I didn’t even realize it at the time. And the thing is rap is so close to comedy. (I love both) You write your own “set”. That’s typically personal and a very lived in experience. It’s frowned upon if you don’t. You typically are quick witted to have punchy quips. You say things most others would NEVER. How you deliver a bar, most definitely has to be set up correctly. And most men in your field see you as inferior before you even utter a word.
Again, this show had so many real life situations I’ve dealt with in today’s age. My father is a ditzy engineer from Brooklyn and my mother was a southern, traditional, Christian, overbearing homemaker for a while until she herself found some independence and of course I too am spoiled to a degree. But I’m determined 😆. I truly felt like Midge was literally foraging a way for what I’ve not only experienced but was dealing with first hand. Her four minutes were not only, one of the first times I openly laughed at her set ( I find her witty and more funny in situations/conversations than the actual stand up the show has presented but that’s a conversation for another time); but literally like a come to Jesus, make or break, full circle, showing her growth & maturity to even ask Susie beforehand should she take the leap and risk it all moment - that I cried and laughed almost entirely through. I have never been this pleased with a show’s finale. I so utterly impressed with this show and the execution of the talent, the nods to everything I love about writing, banter, music and characters. This show is genuinely a class act. And I’ve never been this pleased with anything on TV. I’m so happy to have watched this in real time. And if you’ve made it this far thank you so much for reading it & please don’t judge me too much. I pray we all have a really BIG life.

Disclaimer: I had two rats, one passed away three weeks ago, and I plan to get two more next weekend. She won’t be alone long.
My eight-month-old rat is very obviously bored. Her “roommate” loved toys, but she never quite cared. She kept herself busy by wrestling with her roommate and making nests.
I have given her over a dozen toys/chews/beds/etc. to try to spark any kind of interest, but she gives exactly no you-know-whats. She more or less sits in the corner all day looking pathetic. What else can I try? Hides do nothing. She won’t touch anything that hangs. No reaction for anything made of wood. Puzzles? Meh. Balls? Yawn. Lava rocks? Give me a break.
It’s worth noting that she otherwise seems perfectly healthy. Bright eyes, normal appetite, she isn’t sleeping more than usual, there’s no sneezing/coughing or lumps or bumps. She’s just.. Lazy(?) now that she has nobody to wrestle with.
She does like Critter Nation puffed treats (if we call that a chew) but she’s gaining a little extra weight, and I don’t know if food-based stuff is best in this case with how prone to obesity rats are, and the fact she’s already a little chubby.
Is there anything else that I can try to make her look less like a starving orphan in Victorian England? She needs enrichment, but rejects everything I offer. All she likes is nesting and waiting to die, it seems. Any ideas?

my dog (6 years old, spoodle) has suddenly developed a napoleon complex, but only when he goes on walks. it’s very weird!! he’s completely fine with dogs who are his size/smaller than him but as soon as he sees a bigger dog he’ll start growling, lunging and barking.
what’s really strange is that he’s completely fine when he’s not being ‘walked’ - he went to a dog beach with me recently and he was just his usual playful friendly self. it’s so baffling.
he hasn’t had any bad experiences with bigger dogs that i know of, and he never used to do this before. when he was younger he would see a bigger dog and just want to sniff them. i have no idea why he’s being like this now

I miss you. It's been what, 4 years now? Time flies even when you're not having fun. I've been busy working full-time at a warehouse job and going to university part-time. I hear you're an LPN now. Congratulations!
I tried to reach out to you a few weeks ago and apologized for how we ended. You told me I was forgiven and haven't said much since. I understand why. Your ex texts you out of the blue after so long? Who does that? I guess it was more guilt than anything else that made me want to reach out. I was younger and more impulsive then. I said and did a lot of things that I regret to this day. Things that weren't fair to you. I know that you've always been more sensitive than you let on and I hope none of what I said or did stuck with you and made you feel less than. I hope that the way I acted hasn't colored any relationships that you may have had since in a negative light. I hope that you were able to get over me quickly.
I had missed you longer than we were together. It was only last year when I fully got over you. I've had girlfriends since our relationship ended. Quite a few, I'm embarrassed to say, but the connection I had with all of them pales in comparison to the one that I shared with you. When I said I was over you I meant it, but I still miss the connection we shared. The memories that I made with you as my first long-term partner. All the girls before you (and most since) only saw me as a strap-on with a body attached. You were the first person to love me who was not conditioned by evolution to do so. It was a relationship full of firsts for both of us, characterized by our innocence and naivete.
I wonder if I'll ever feel that way with anyone again. Neither of us are the same people we were back then, and thank God for that. We broke up for a reason. I've grown cynical and jaded over the years and have built fortified walls around my heart, and yet still I manage to find new ways to get hurt. I hope that you have been stronger than me in my absence. I hope that you chose to be brave and love others with reckless abandon the way we used to. The way I used to. I hope you chose different than me. To see the good in others and to open up your heart to them. To take the chances that I missed and that they worked out in your favor. I hope that me letting you down twice has not turned you bitter and untrusting of others. I wish I was still the person that I used to be when I was with you but I am not and probably never will be again. I hope you are. For both of us.
Inevitably, I regret to say, my decisions over the past few years have vindicated your decision to move on from me. You deserved better and I always knew that even when we were together. You brought out the best in me. I never smiled more, laughed more, or felt more comfortable being my weird, awkward self than I was over the course of our year and a half together. I may have gotten over you, but I miss who I used to be when I was with you.
I wonder in the late hours of the night, as I lay in bed alone again or next to some stranger, that if I had made the choice to stay and make the sacrifices you needed from me as a partner, I could have more-or-less stayed that person forever. If that could have provided a healthier base for me to move forward with life. If I could have grown instead of regressed.
I suppose that I will never know the answer. In a separate timeline, maybe we would have gotten married and had a big family like we talked about. I could lay in bed with someone I truly love and who loves me in return. But I made choices in this life different from that person and I have to live with them.
We had our differences and in all honesty it probably wouldn't have worked out betwwen us even if I had stayed. Still, the almost and the endless possibilities of that almost remain and haunt my nocturnal mind.
I miss my best friend from the prime of my life. I miss the innocence, immaturity, and naive stupidity of what we had when we were younger and had nothing to lose. I miss the freedom that came with it. I miss the common dream that we both shared. I miss the courage I had to pursue that dream until one day I sadly didn't. I understand that you're probably done with me and have moved on to better things but I've wanted to say that for years. I miss you, Becky.
