Okay so I just finished Cambridge AS level art and design in the 2023 Feb march series and it came out as a C!! Now I already had a hunch that it was gonna be bad from the beginning because my teacher was completely new to the syllabus and was practically confused about what she wanted us to do. Spirits are pieces of the great flame, meaning when someone dies, they return to the fire to be purified, their memories and mortal burdens burned away as fuel for the Great Flame. Then they will break off once again to be born anew.
General information
In this world, magic stems from the fire, the reflection of the Great Flame's light. Specifically what different cultures learned from it. Some learned to replicate the way fire moves with their own bodies, some have learned to replicate how it sounds with their voices, and still others have learned to replicate its adaptability with their bodies.
People powered these abilities with special breathing techniques that tempered their inner fire. The less air they took in the less powerful the ability, but the more controlled it was. However, they ran the risk of "snuffing" where their spirit would extinguish. The inverse was in taking lots of air to burn their inner fire hotter leading to more power, but less control. This in addition to "burn out" where they turn into scourges.
Over hundreds, maybe thousands, of generations, these individual cultures evolved bodies more capable of nurturing these abilities. Becoming more potent.

Dance like fire
The dance school is about moving like fire. The wildfire sub-school allows one to "spread" like wildfire, striking multiple targets and turning precise strikes into wide slashes. The flicker sub-school allows one to move with speed and agility. The combustion sub-school allows one to use powerful blows that can split rock. The rise sub-school allows one to climb impossible obstacles.
Purify like fire
The purity school is about purifying and renewing like fire. The cauterize sub-school allows one to mend wounds and regrow flesh. The renewal school allows one to heal dead or dying flesh or organs. The purge sub-school purifies the body of diseases or poisons.

The daze school is about stunning the mind and hypnotizing the target. The stun sub-school allows one to startle the mind to keep it from reacting. The dazzle sub-school allows one to confuse the mind so it struggles to recognize stimuli.
How I want to use this
I want this magic to start mysterious and dangerous. Some ten thousand years ago it was first discovered by humanity. People began to examine their campfires and notice the patterns within. Then began to imitate these patterns for daily life. Moving like fire gave them the speed to outpace their prey during the hunt, speaking like fire allowed them to be more agreeable and work together, purifying like fire allowed them to heal and survive fatal diseases. All these things moved humanity forward. Ten thousand years of using this magic, people started to evolve bodies capable of better using specific types of fire magic.
In a more present-day setting, humanity is using magic more effectively though they are still divided into clans by their power. At this point, through education, people have begun to use this magic more efficiently and without as many downsides. They started domesticating animals to use this magic and use them as luxuries. Examples being a sort of doglike being that can warm like fire and help people survive the cold nights in the desert. Or beetles that glow like fire that they keep in special jars like lanterns.
However, they still use this magic themselves. improving themselves in these magics and using them in more modern ways like agriculture, medicine, construction, and eventually technology using a tool called the wildfire engine to create energy for electronics. Basically, people sit around an engine and meditate creating energy for society. People can even learn this skill for the sake of charging their own devices. These technologies are biological in nature or biomechanical. As in they grow certain components and craft others.

Hi Games, I'm a solo dev and I just released my game LOCOMOTORICA: Staggering Ragdoll on Steam.
I worked on Drunken Wrestlers 2 for the past 9 years, but last year I started feeling like I'm stuck in a hamster wheel. I then decided to make another small game just to try something new. One of my goals was to not repeat the mistakes I made with my previous game (namely feature creep, identity crisis, and technical debt), and accurately estimate my abilities.
I always liked physics games, and games with unique mechanics that require mechanical skill to be good at. Besides Rocket League, one of such games is Getting Over It by Bennett Foddy, which I'm a big fan of. Bennett Foddy is a solo developer too, and the mechanics in his games looked like something I could do as well. At first I was thinking about making a game similar to Getting Over It but with a grappling hook instead of a hammer, but that felt like too much of a rip-off. Then I remembered his other game, QWOP, and immediately got a lot of ideas on how I could put my own spin on it.
But art isn't my strong suit, so I was looking for a setting for the game that would not require a lot of art. This led me to get inspiration from SIGGRAPH videos of AI researchers training their deep reinforcement learning models to walk, and putting player in the shoes of these neural networks seemed like a fun idea. So, I coded an active ragdoll system where you control your legs with gamepad sticks and triggers, then made a variety of levels, and my girlfriend produced some awesome music for the soundtrack. I also made time attack mode where every level has a leaderboard with replays, so you can race against other people. Finally, I made a level editor and integrated it with Steam Workshop. And after 10 months of work, I've finally released it to Steam Early Access this week.

ABOUT: You are in control of an active ragdoll in a computer physics simulation. Move your legs manually with out gamepad sticks and triggers to retain balance and walk. In this game your objective is to complete various tasks and levels. It can be challenging at first, as it is partially inspired by QWOP, a 2008 game by Bennett Foddy. But if you get a feel for it, you'll be able to walk, run, and navigate the environment with little effort.

Many posts have clearly established how character names have had clear implications to the story so far. Tom Wambsgans fulfilled his namesake Bill Wambsganss in the triple play he made at the end of Season 3, making a triple play on Roman, Ken and Shiv. Roman's is set up to be subverted, rather than being the one who kills his brother for the throne is tragically taken out himself, and so on.
However I've not seen discussion of the name of the character most clearly set on a Hero's Journey in this series. The meaning of Greg's name:

Greek in origin, Greg is a boy's name largely attributed to a guiding, protective force. Stemming from the Greek name Grēgórios and later the Latin Gregorius, Greg means "watchful" or "vigilant." Most fittingly, the name finds close proximity to the Latin noun grex, and its stem greg, meaning "flock." Such ties grant Greg the stature of a shepherd, faithfully watching over their flock with a calm and comforting hand.

With the finale titled "With Open Eyes", it's too much a coincidence to ignore that this is in direct reference to the the one character who literally means "watching", or alternatively, to be "awake". While everyone else vying for the throne has been scrambling with their actions, striving against the wind, only one contender has shown restraint to act. He goes along with Tom's request to be his messenger, but his raison d'etre is to watch everyone. To gain information. To see where the pieces are moving and calculate the best advantage. "With Open Eyes" literally means "With Greg".
What the Romulus advocates ignore is that the ultimate successor of the Roman Empire itself was the Roman Catholic Church. It is there that was another likely inspiration for Greg's name, in Pope Gregory the Great. Interestingly, Gregory the Great became Prefect of Rome at only the age of thirty-three. Nicholas Braun was thirty-four when the finale was filmed.
The final piece of the puzzle comes with his relationship to Tom. The pilot episode established the ending through allegory. Recall what Tom's gift to Logan was: A watch. His gift to Logan in the finale: A successor, the watcher.
The writers alluded to the ending by calling him Greg. ^{This is satire in case you don't know.} It's the logical culmination of his hero's journey to ascend, from mascot to CEO, throughout the whole time; the watcher.

Hello I am just wondering if I can be forced into things as an adult. I am not underweight by any means. I am considered WAY overweight and I am on a weight loss journey honestly. I am sitting in my room. Panicking. I have been fasting for 25 hours as of writing this. I know I need to get smaller because of the health problems that are in my family when we get older but I just wish I never let myself become obese. I have bulimia and have had it for a while but about a month ago I realized that I was no longer able to purge like I wanted to and that was enough to trigger me to severely restrict my food and fast as I am afraid to eat. I’m so scared I’m gonna binge and not be able to get rid of it. I’m so scared I’m gonna keep getting bigger. I feel like I’m on my way to being 600 pounds. I have lost 20 pounds in this past month and my therapist said I am leaning toward anorexic behavior but I don’t see how as I am not underweight and I don’t think I ever will be. I have started having lots of issues with things like constant dizziness or weakness in my legs and things of that nature. Almost passed out once. Part of me is proud of it. Part of me is scared. My therapist recommended I get a dietitian or a nutritionist at our last session. My question is, if things get to bad, with me being a 26 year old, can they force me to do things? Like would it be the same as someone who is actively suicidal? What do they do if you refuse to eat in a hospital setting? It seems like I am in a constant state of worry all the time. About my weight, the need to weigh myself, the fear of eating food, the fear that I’ll pass out at work or at therapy and end up being taken to the hospital when I don’t want to. Sorry if this isn’t where this needed to go. I didn’t know where else to post this.

I am literally sobbing. This story. This show. This experience. means so much to me 🥹. I honestly didn’t know quite how they would wrap this season up (because I felt a few decisions were misguided), but this episode was beyond a home run. This show has tugged on almost every aspect of my being. Though, I am a twenty something proud black woman, I have an affinity for the “simpler” (I know, more racist), but definitely more aesthetic times of the 60s. The class. The jazz. The gravitas. The playful banter. The quick cadence of conversations. I love just about everything in “Hollywood’s Idealized 60’s” except the the year my father was born (I kid 😅). But honestly, in addition to my inclination of the shows artistic direction; so much of Midge’s story has had happened to me.
I fell into music after a horrendous breakup. After nursing a boyfriends dream to rap. After being more dedicated and more disciplined and more neurotic about his passion than he ever was. We had a “mutual uncoupling”. And I tumbled into the same situation playfully and angrily at an open mic. & It just clicked. Like everything in my life had been building to that moment - yet I didn’t even realize it at the time. And the thing is, rap is so close to comedy. (Yes, I love both). You write your own “set”, that’s typically personal and a very lived in experience. It’s frowned upon if you don’t. You typically are quick witted to have punchy quips. You say things most others would NEVER dare utter. How you deliver a bar, most definitely has to be set up correctly - the execution has to perfect or you’re executed. ANDDDD most men in your field see you as an inferior, pretty piece of meat before you even utter a word.
Again, this show had so many real life situations I’ve dealt with in today’s age. My father is a socially dense, super smart engineer from Brooklyn and my mother was a southern, traditional, Christian, overbearing homemaker for a while until she herself found some independence and therefore I, of course, am spoiled to a degree. But I’m determined 😆. Moving back home. Starting over. Working jobs you loathe but use as material. Having a mother who constantly asks when you’ll settle down. Or an ex (and his parents) reminding you, you’re the one who got away. I truly felt like Midge was literally foraging a way for what I was dealing with first hand. Her four minutes were not only, one of the first times I openly laughed at her set ( I find her witty and more funny in situations/conversations than the actual stand up the show has presented - but that’s a conversation for another time); but literally a come to Jesus, make or break, full circle, showing her maturity to even ask Susie beforehand should she take the leap and risk it all, moment - that I cried and laughed almost entirely through. I have never been this pleased with a show’s finale. I am so utterly impressed with this show and the execution of the talent, the nods to everything I love about writing, plot, banter, music and characters. This show is genuinely a class act. And I’ve never been this pleased with anything on TV that’s had more than 2 seasons. I’m so happy to have watched this in real time.
So, as I close this chapter of not only the show’s finale, but a current depressive episode; this show has made me miss my summers in NYC and because I’m moving in a few months, may very well take the chance to move there on my own while I still have a chance in my (now late) twenties. It has reminded me the intimacy of friendship and how important is is to have people who believe in you, around. And truly has reminded me how much I DESIRE & I’M DETERMINED TO HAVE A BIG LIFE. I am so undone by this finale. I have such a deep appreciation. And if you’ve made it this far thank you so much for being apart of this ride with me. I pray you have a big life & aspire for greatness in every aspect of your life.
