I have been actively putting effort into losing weight since December 2022, but with tiny fluctuations, I have maintained my weight of 170 lb for about 6 months now. I am getting very discouraged and am here to seek guidance.
The two main issues I am running into: - I run so much and work out so much that I gain shin splints excessively, leading to debilitation for a few days. No lessening of physical exercise averts this
My goal has been to consume around 1250-1300 calories per day, and exercise until in total I burn 1800 a day — Allowing for a 500 calorie deficit. However, I cannot stop eating, especially after hard workouts, and it usually ends up with an insanely painful body and a consumption of 2000 calories per day — no progress. This cycle happens over and over again. I cannot stop eating or else I feel immense hunger, distress, and exhaustion.

Hi, 23M 183cm (6ft) at around 115kg (~250lbs). Quick backstory, I lost around 25kg (~50lbs) from Sep 22 to Dec 22. I then did some traveling in January where I tried to maintain and I did. Feb and March were not the best and found myself at around 118 (~260lbs). I picked myself back up in April and found myself back at 115kg, and was back in consistently counting calories and working out 5-6x a week since mid-late April. I found that it is a extremely challenging to continue losing weight at the same pace. My CW is 114kg (~250lbs), and I have been in what I believe to be a consistent calorie deficit for about 5 weeks now, with a consistent workout routine. I have lost 1kg (2.2lbs) in 5 weeks. I eat between 1600-2000 calories a day, which some would argue is a little too aggressive given my build and workout routine. I do 10-15 minutes on the stairs 5x a week as my cardio, and I have been trying to live a more active life overall. I try to hit at least 200g of protein, and take creatine. Do you think I might be overestimating my TDEE? It should be around 3000 based on TDEE calculators. I read online somewhere that maybe because I lost the initial weight a little too fast, that I might have ruined my metabolism. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey folks, I'm currently on a weightloss goal ever since last December. I weighed an all time high of 260, and managed to squirm my way down to 219 (my goal is 185), but I've been struggling with getting myself under 219 again.
I now weigh 227, which is a major step back in my book since I managed to loss my excessive weight with relative ease.
I workout six times a day, and am fairly active but my biggest problem is my dieting. I used to count my calories, but fell off of it and resorted to just eyeballing my calories.
This is one of the mistakes I've been trying to fix, so that I can get back under my calorie deficit.
But man oh man, whenever I see shit like sweets, or foods full of carbs, processed foods and sugary drinks, I literally get an obscene urge to eat or drink whatever junk is there.
Does anyone have good tips on fighting urges on bad foods like these? I worry that getting to my recommended calorie deficit is gonna be impossible if I can't stop myself from eating this trash food.

Over the last...maybe 4 or 5 days I've been seeing the number on the scale go all over. Started at 92kg, then jumped up to 92.1 after a night out with friends, which I expected.
The next day however, it shot up to 92.5kg. After what I ate, I didn't expect such a gain. A single bowl of noodles at dinner at home couldn't possibly have been anywhere over 1000 calories.
The next day, lost 100g. 92.4. Okay, not as much as I would've liked to lose. But it's still something. (Typically I'd lose a little more per day but I might need to slow down anyways)
The day after, 92.2kg. Great, I'm back on track. Maybe slower than usual, but it's not a gain.
Today, however? Shot right up to 92.6kg. And considering I burned 500+ calories at work alone, I couldn't have eaten the amount needed to suddenly gain back another 400g.
I don't get it, what else is putting the pounds on me? Did I miscalculate something? After that night out with friends I've been eating at my usual deficit (at least that's what I thought). Is it water weight again? I've been logging literally everything I've been eating thus far. This can't be happening so soon

So getting back into my fitness journey I got some Altra zero drop running shoes and adjusted to those via running and treadmill walks and then i just lift in those. I then started playing basketball and got some Trae Young 1s not really thinking about the drop. I’ve found that they’re 8-10mm online, a pretty big jump from my zero drop running shoes. Anyways, just running and jumping around playing 1v1 with my buddy trying to get into hooping for a cardio workout, I feel immediate pressure in the front of my calves. I pushed through it, and had that shin splint pain in the front of my shins for almost a couple weeks. Took a break from going to the courts, back again the other day and immediate front shin pains, and 5 days later as I’m writing this, my shins/muscles around the shins are tender to the touch. Does anyone know anything about soles I can put in my basketball shoes to help this issue? I’d rather not just have to buy a new pair of basketball shoes and wanted to try another option before I try another pair of shoes. Really any advice from anyone on this topic would be helpful.

I (22F) am in a college friend group consisting of my best friend Maddy (21F), Jason (21M), and Jason’s old friend from highschool Tina (20F). I like them all but Tina annoys me the most. She’s very loud, has weird hyperfixations, and she talks nonstop about her boyfriend. She’s been with her boyfriend since freshman year of highschool and he’s her highschool sweetheart. Tho tbh it seems like it’ll die any second because I almost never see them hang out. For context Tina is quite overweight, I think she’s around 179lbs at 5 feet 4 inches. I never cared about her weight until she made it an issue.
She told us that she’s going to work out at the college gym with her boyfriend. She wouldn’t stop talking about it ANYTIME she hangs out with us. It’s obnoxious and annoying. She kept going on about how she’s trying a new “lifestyle” even though I saw her eating pizza everyday and it doesn’t seem like she does much besides jogging on a treadmill.
I told Maddy about this and she told me she’s just an easily excited person and not to pay any kind. I tried but reached my breaking point. She brought up again at Starbucks that her workouts are leaving her sore and sometimes she feels unmotivated. I told her, “Well maybe if you didn’t only jog and did other exercises, you’d be less unmotivated.” She laughed it off and took what I said as a joke which pissed me off.
Then she went to brag about how strong her boyfriend has gotten and how shes noticing his muscles. I made another comment "Oh so he's advancing more than you?” and then she turned and laughed again, except louder. She started saying stuff like, “Are you jealous that you don’t have a strong boyfriend or something?” and Jason and Maddy were kind of sitting around looking awkwardly at me. I just said, “No because I’m not a balloon that has to workout just because my boyfriend doesn’t find me attractive anymore like you.” And kinda saw red. It was honestly really mean and I didn’t know how to take that back. Maddy told me to knock it off and Jason tried calling everyone down.
Tina just kept laughing and kept saying, “Alright, buddy. I’ll hang out with you guys whenever she doesn’t have an attitude.” And left for her class. I have a target of 500 which I can do but going on holiday for 5 weeks and feel like it may be a struggle to hit this while travelling as I need to do 3 days at least an hour workout to hit this. I (33f) have been looking up things to help me get into better shape. At the moment weight loss isn't my focus, I just want to be able to spend thirty minutes of medium effort on a treadmill, recumbent bike or elliptical without feeling like I'm going to have a heart attack.
I'm 5'3, weigh 226 lbs and I'm fairly out of shape. Bad hips and a severe issue in my lower back (seeing a chiropractor for both) makes workouts frustrating.
I've recently seen a lot of posts about people going on treadmills at about 2.3-3 mph with a 6-13% incline. Is this a good way to start or am I just kidding myself?

I (20F) have always been overweight since I was little. At least I always felt like I was, looking back at pictures, sure my face was round but I didn't look "unhealthy". A little background as to why I've been conscious of my weight from a young age is because my older sister is underweight because of health problems, not an eating disorder, and my mom is obese and has been since I remember. I took after my mom in all my looks, body type, personality, almost everything. She's struggled to loose weight, I think because she has depression and eats because she's emotional or bored.
I think that I also eat when I feel emotional/bored but I'm aware that I tend to do this so I was better about it until about 2 years ago when I had PTSD from an unfortunate relationship. This is when I also started college so of course I also gained weight from eating cafeteria food. I've kept gaining weight since then and this summer is the time for me to get it under control because I'm taking it off to solely focus on my physical and mental health (I have migraines and trying to figure out if I have food triggers).
When I first lost weight: summer 2020 -Started around 180 lbs -lost about 21 lbs -5'2" I might by 5'3" honestly don't know This was because I had IBS and needed to get it under control. I did kind of, but because of my relationship, I had extreme anxiety and that caused my stomach to go crazy, especially fall 2021 when I went to college/we broke up. This is when the weight gain started again.
I was able to get it under control a little bit, I was 170s and got back down to 160s (lbs) by going to my college's gym, but summer 2022 I didnt keep it up. Didn't go to gym at all since then. Fast forward to now
Summer 2023: -186 lbs -gained around 27 lbs
So, this post seems kinda pointless after writing it but I guess I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to keep going. I have exercise-induced asthma so it's difficult to do any high-intensity workouts but I like walking and swimming. I need to start exercising more but not exactly sure how. I also don't know if I should start calorie counting and logging my food. I did this the first time I lost weight, but it was kind of depressing to see the numbers.
I just don't really know anymore. I don't want to be obese because I don't want to be uncomfortable, have health problems (more than I already do), and it's really embarrassing. Realistically I know that most people probably don't care as much as I do, but I want to feel comfortable in my own skin and not always be the chubbiest person around. Also, if I start dating again, I need to feel comfortable in my own body, which I'm not sure if that's possible until I lost weight. I felt a lot better about myself when I was about 160-165 lbs but still felt like I could improve. It's also really depressing when I look at BMI weights and all that because I'm not sure that it's realistic for me to be 135 lbs...

I’m a 30y/o, 230lb male who has worked out pretty hard off and on for the last 10 years. I use many different TDEE calculators and they all say that my Basal Metabolic Rate is around ~2,000k/cal per day. I’m also a bartender so I’m on my feet bartending for 30-40 hours a week.
I’m back in the gym 3-4 days a week doing CrossFit. My heart rate monitor says I burn between 700-1000k/cal per workout. I used multiple sites and found out that at my current height and weight I’m burning about 180k/cal per hour bartending (the sites I used were just for standing, bartending is even more labor intensive but I’m lowballing here). I’m not drinking and I’ve been tracking my calories every day for the last week.
My issue here is that I haven’t lost weight in years. I gained about 20-25lb during the pandemic. From the numbers I’m seeing I would have to be eating around ~3000k/cal every day and more on days that I’m working to even just maintain my weight. I’ve tracked my calories before and I haven’t changed a lot in my eating and My Fitness Pal keeps saying at the end of every day that “if every day we’re like today you’d weight ~212lbs in 5 weeks”.
The numbers tell me I’m burning more calories than I’m eating, yet I’m not losing weight. I’m sticking with this diet and exercise plan until august so I’ll know more then but I don’t understand why losing weight has been so hard for me when I feel like I’m doing everything right.

I've made a couple comments here on pineapple/bromelain and they were well-received, so I thought I'd make a proper post on the topic. I don't think /cumtastierloads exists yet, so until then... posting here is probably best way to reach this particular niche of supplement hunters.
Pineapple is the most famous fix for foul semen, and it totally works. But that's not because it's sweet (plenty of fruit is sweet yet doesn't help), but because it contains an enzyme mixture that helps to break down meat, eliminating compounds that would influence your flavor. You can get this enzyme mix in pill form as bromelain, which is cheaply available online, low calorie, and easy to take with meals. That's the way to go.
Regarding timing: you can get same-day benefits, but 24+ hours is probably better. I think the "lag time" required (to get the benefit) is related to frequency of ejaculation, but I haven't explored this extensively. I'd love to hear from anyone who has solid intel on this front.
The pills I take are 500 mg and contain 600 GDU/gram (whatever that means). I take two of these pills with any meal that has substantial meat/dairy. I suspect most sources of bromelain are
Potentially more important: staying hydrated & avoiding smoking, booze, and red meat. Hydration determines the intensity of the flavor, while the other factors can change the quality of the flavor. Bromelain especially cancels out nastiness arising from food, which is why it should be taken with meals, especially meat/dairy-heavy meals. All these factors impact pre-cum, too, and likely impact a woman's flavor (but won't cancel out the impact of a yeast infection or BV).
Shout out to vitaliboosthealth who has a nice write-up about bromelain here. It notes that you should avoid bromelain if you have a pineapple allergy, or if you're on blood thinners. I think the most typical side effects would be digestive issues.

I work an office job from home so very little movement throughout the day , however I do workout 5-6 days a week averaging about 250 ‘active calories’
