Hi! I didnât watch movies much growing up, and Iâm legally blind. My condition is regretory, as in it was worst when I was born, and improved until I hit puberty (ocular albinism, specifically). I still have a lot of trouble distinguishing people in movies unless they wear very distinct clothes etc.
As such, most of what Iâve watched as an adult has been sci fi, fantasy, or animated. Dramas and romance movies are typically too hard for me to watch without someone telling me whoâs speaking because I canât tell them apart. I am fluent in English and Japanese, but no recommendations outside those languages unless thereâs a dub because, well, blind. I had to take a classics movie class in college and while I liked the singing in the ones that had them, the lack of color made it even harder to see what was on screen.
Are there any movies you think would be worth a watch for me- classic or recent? Iâm fine with some deep cuts but itâs got to be visually high contrast or distinct enough and Iâd like to step out of my comfort zone. Iâm not a fan of audio descriptive movies, at that point Iâd rather just listen to an audiobook.

I'm 20 years old never kissed someone and never had friends.
I was born ugly. Not a messy person, not someone average. I'm ugly. objectively ugly. I could number all the features of my face that are considered disgusting by society, but I won't because otherwise the post would possibly have another 100 lines.
I can't have a conversation looking directly into people's faces because I feel ashamed of myself. I miss the obligatory mask use during covid times. Everywhere I go, I try to position myself at an angle where my face is as little exposed as possible. When I walk down the street, I stay on the side of the wall so that one side of my face is hidden. When I see someone taller than me, I feel inferior. Especially if it's someone handsome and tall... then, in addition to feeling inferior, I feel angry and jealous of the person. This is body dysmorphia, quite possibly. One of the thousands of psychological problems I developed because of childhood bullying
There are those who say that a good personality is capable of overcoming such conditions. Maybe I would even agree, if we're referring to someone average or just a little ugly. But in relation to the real uglies, that's already a myth. But ok, let's suppose it's true: it wouldn't work for me either because I have social phobia and I've never even had any friends. That is, I don't know how to talk, I'm socially awkward and I've never had experiences that 99% of normal people with the same age have had, such as a simple trip to the mall with friends or a friendly call on discord.
But to make things worse (when someone is cursed at birth, it has to be completely cursed, right?), I'm short. I'm around 5'6 tall. And so is my masculine organ.
Loneliness, in small doses, is wonderful (at least for us introverts). It's great to be alone and listen to music, play something, play a video game, read a book, cook... but daily, eternal and continuous loneliness is one of the worst feelings that any human can have, after all, we are social beings and what allowed the evolution of the species was the social relationship. And I don't have it. I don't know what it's like to feel loved by people who aren't family (since in this case affection and love is just instinctive). I don't even remember the last time I got a hug. And I'm starting to miss all of that, especially seeing others around me happy and living their lives like a movie.
I, truly, just wanted to be normal. But maybe this life isn't for me.

So my screen is lagging when I switch to 120hz refresh rate, when I go back on 60hz It's smooth with no problems. Every game I have to set to 60hz otherwise It's unplayable. When I dont play it is okay sometimes, but not always. Sometimes when I just watch YouTube the video starts lagging. I use 120hz on my desktop PC without issues.
To describe the problem: screen lags every second, like it is skipping frames every second. Only thing that occurs me is that my internet can't make it, but I stream movies And Twitch on full HD on my desktop PC with no problem. So I dont think that Is the problem cause i never experienced my internet not being good enough.
I use 1920x1080, Power.
I tried to switch every single setting in Shadow and also in nVidia Control Panel with no success.

Hi! Iâve been rewatching a bunch of classic movies lately and I canât quite remember the name of one Iâve seen.
I think that it mightâve been Diabolical Pact, but I canât find much information about it anywhere other than very loose plot points. I was wondering if any of you could help me confirm if thatâs what it was or not?
What I remember is that this guy goes to a castle or a big house to investigate some missing people(?) and heâs also a ventriloquist or his friend is a ventriloquist. I canât remember the stuff that happens in between (I most likely fell asleep) and the guy is eventually captured and ends up in a cell full of old people. He realizes that theyâre the missing people, and that theyâve aged rapidly.
The owners of the castle/mad scientist people are trying to make an anti aging serum, but I just wonât work and it keeps making people age rapidly.
The guy is theme strapped onto a table and is about to be injected with a serum, but he only pretends to be knocked out (?) and he knocks on the bottom of the table and uses his ventriloquist skills to trick the doctor.
He wiggles his arm free and squirts out the serum and replaces it with water, and heâs injected with the water instead.
I think his buddy then breaks him out, and theyâre about to fight the evil doctor and his lady assistant, but the assistant sees that he hasnât rapidly aged and thinks the serum finally works.
Before the guy can warn her, they take the serum, and they rapidly age.
The end??
I remember watching this on Svengoolie in the early 2010s, but I canât find any mention of when I look through the episode list for each season. I saw that the Diabolical Pact has something to do with aging serum, but I canât find anything else about it!
It had to have been Svengoolie, because our tv only got MeTV and PBS, but I canât find it! Does anyone know if the Diabolical Pact was released under a different name or if there was a similar movie that copied it?
Any help or information given to identify the movie is appreciated. Iâm going crazy trying to figure it out!

Math Teacher (9/10): I knew him super well and we work together for the peer-tutoring program. We often talk during lunch.
English Teacher (7/10): I'm a good student but I don't know her as well as the math. I'm active in her class though and she seemed excited when I asked if she would write me a letter.
Professor at T5 (7/10): I worked with this guy everyday. Our relationship was pretty much limited to only technical stuff, but I think he had a lot to say.
Interviews
MIT (first interview, dream school): Went really well and I clicked with the interviewer. She asked a lot of technical questions about my research, but I answered them well and she seemed impressed. I tried to act a lil "quirky" during the interview (since MIT's culture is like that) and she mentioned I'd be a good fit.
Princeton: Went well. Mostly talked about ECs and why I want to go.
Cornell: This was non evaluative. Consisted mostly of my interviewer talking about how the school was
Columbia: No interview :(
Harvard: Went well. The interviewer seemed impressed over how I name dropped certain professors and research groups I want to join.
Stanford: Nothing special. Mostly talked about why I wanted to go to the school. The interview ended in like 30 minutes :(.
Essays
Common App Essay (10/10): I spent 3 months pouring over this and it is honestly the best thing I have ever written. I spent like a month just outlining literary techniques and stuff I would use and it helped a ton. I had an English professor at my local college read it and say that it was "one of the better" student-written works they've seen. Lowkey trauma dumping (my hs english teacher cried when she read it) but I guess it worked
Supplemental (7/10): Half of these were done like a week before the deadline. They related to my ECs pretty well though and I was able to elaborate on my research experiences.

MIT has always been my dream school and I was ecstatic when I got in, but the FA was TRASH. I adored the school when I visited. As I began to visit the other schools, I also really enjoyed Princeton. Cornell felt too isolated and Columbia was too urban, but Princeton fell right in the middle. I was still dead set on MIT though.
It was an incredibly difficult decision, but I chose Princeton. As much as I loved MIT, the tuition was too much for my family, and I couldn't pass up on the full ride. Go tigers!
