I just got my first tray two days ago, and overall I'm pretty excited about this journey ! Unfortunately, I wake up at night because the tray is cutting my labial brake and it's very painful. Hey there. Am using foam overnight for 4 months now - Very little sign of progress but definitely ‘something’ (little more fuzz than usual and the odd tiny hair showing a few days after shaving that wasn’t there before) I’m also shaving once per week as read that it doesn’t impact at all - wonder if sometimes you have to leave it a little or indeed shaving won’t affect it and results should still be clear 🤷🏻♂️ That said, unless it suddenly blows up, I expect this could take a couple of years and not sure even then what the result would be. Everyone is different of course, but I’m 36 so wanted to see if there are any over 30s like me using just foam nightly that have seen significant results? Thanks!

So for context, I met this girl at church one day and it was love at first sight for me. The first year I just sort of knew her as an accomplice and then the next year we grew closer in our relationship, the year after that we became pretty good friends and then the year after (this year) after a church event where everyone went away for a weekend, we got a lot closer. To the point where we were messaging for hours every night, she knew I loved her but I wasn’t sure she loved me, and then she started dating one of my friends (this guy knew I was addicted to this girl) and I fell into a sort of deep depression for those few weeks they dated. They broke up and then I started really pursuing this girl. Then a few weeks later one of my other friend who is also friends with her told me that she really liked the way I made her feel and how much she loved me but she wasn’t comfortable telling me in person for some reason, I went to talk to her ex (I was still good friends with at the time) I told him what my freind told me about her, and he promised to keep it secret, I eventually asked her if she liked me and she absolutely cock blocked me by saying that “it was a secret” and she kept this up for a few weeks until it was completely evident that she liked me and she still didn’t want to tell me, so she knew that I knew, and she told me to keep it a secret, everything was good until a few hours ago, she got really mad at me because I told her ex that she liked me, and she started giving me the silent treatment, I’m really worried and I’m not sure how to apologise to her, or if I’m even supposed to apologise Because we wouldn’t be in this situation if she just admitted it, please help

Reasons I feel down:
- I have experienced very strong romantic and sexual attraction to someone once in my life. The other time was romantic. That’s it. And because I experienced it I know how intoxicating and amazing it was. And I can see it in other people. How much joy they get from their partners. I can barely be around them anymore. It hurts me so much I’ll never probably have that again, since it’s been 5 years since the big one. I didn’t give up hope for so long. I thought if I did everything right and tried it would come again. But it didn’t. And now it’s just more painful to believe that it will again. I am asexual. So I give up. But it still hurts like crazy. I feel very sad.
- All of these things I so desperately wanted: a spouse I love and am attracted to, a companion to talk to and who I trust unconditionally, kids with a parent that I 100% trust and can raise our kids with me, even kids at all, I may never have. I didn’t even realize that was a possibility, that I just wouldn’t be able to have those things. It’s just something society sort of promises you in an indirect way. And not because of some external force not allowing me to like money or lack of trying, which I can change, but because of me. Because I don’t feel any desire to be with anyone. It’s honestly kind of a cruel joke. Im sorry if I sound like I’m criticizing asexuality.
- As I said, anyone can see how powerful love and attraction is. Loads of people stay together not because they work but because they love each other (not saying they should lol). Anyone who has a partner wants to spend almost every moment with that person, or at least the most with that person. They rarely grow tired of them. All this to say, I am dubious about trying to make friends when it seems like the friendship level never seems to go further than shallow water. No deep talks. I feel like I’m the second fiddle or the third wheel. And after we hang for a few hours, they’ll leave to be with their partner who they can talk shit with, possibly about me even, or whatever it is, and I’ll be alone again for hours. Even thinking about that gives me this horribly sad wrenching feeling in my gut. I don’t want to go to sleep alone every night. I’ve always wanted a life partner who I am in total sync with. I’ve always wanted true love. Everything seems fucked. To be completely honest I’ve never had many friends, and I always thought I knew deep down that I’d be one of those people that was just best friends with their spouse and then had a few friends on the side. It sounds cringe but that’s the case for a lot of people. But that most likely will never be me, I realize now. And when you’re an adult no one really wants to be your best friend anymore. They have someone else for that, or they want someone else for that.

I plan on visiting Hawai'i with my SO in August, and I can't figure out where to stay. We chose Hawai'i because our options were that or Maui (I'm "from" O'ahu [my dad got stationed there when I was a kid] and we've already done Kauai), and the Big Island is cheaper.
Also, I really want to swim with manta rays. And he's pretty into astronomy.
However, starting to rethink Hawai'i because my boyfriend has the mindset of not wanting to drive much, wanting to wake up and walk to coffee shops and restaurants and things. I've warned him that BI is sprawling and he seems to be ok with it, but it's looking like if we want to be close to things and have fun without driving (of course we will drive to Volcanoes NP but want to relax most of the time), we have to splurge on a big resort in Waikoloa? I'm showing him some budget places, but most of them are too secluded for his tastes.
... at that point maybe we should just go to Maui instead?

Two years ago - just after high school - a guy I was mutuals with on Insta responded to my story (we went to nearby high schools and had same mutual friends) and we became quick friends.
We played CSGO like once or twice and chatted every. single. day.
Then Ian's birthday comes around and he has a party - I'm not invited but I try not to mind because we'd only been friends for 2 or so months and it makes sense.
That weekend Ian's friend offs himself and we stop talking. Fair enough. He's grieving. I reach out in case he needs it, and we only chat very briefly a handful of times for the rest of 2021/all of 2022 - normal standard for most people from HS for me.
Early March this year I'm at our mutual friend's 21st and we run into each other. First time I see this guy IRL. We catch up for hours until the end of the night, share a blunt. He sends me a song on Instagram, and we start chatting every day again. It's almost June now. He's played CS with me once. Didn't invite me to his birthday (that I helped him brainstorm for), turned down my offers to come to the movies with friends. Is always too busy to vc/game etc
We were both in the city last night and his friends bailed on him for a gig, so I offered to buy a ticket - turns me down. I walk past him on the street and we're like "ayyyy" but we both keep walking (I knew he was late for his gig)
It's not like he's subtly trying to get me to fuck off, I'll kill a convo ("yeah, lol" or something) and he'll ask me about something entirely different; i JUST posted on my story and Ian responded to it after i killed a chat.
what the hell is going on? i've asked a guy friend and he thinks Ian is "playing the long game" and wants to "get in" but his "pride gets in the way from actually physically seeing (me)/talking to (me)" but it all sounds like a load of crap. If he really was trying to "get in" how do I turn him down?? He hasn't given me any actual indicators so it's not like I can just say "btw I don't want to fuck" Reddit, what's going on???

This is probably going to be a long post sorry. Anyways.
While yes, the game is kind of centered around Shimura and Jin and the relationship between them, which is close to that of parent and child. I'm not only referring to that part.
Throughout the story Shimura berates you on how bad your actions are and gives zero leeway to other tactics and methods to defeat the Mongols. Speaking as if he was %100 in the right, and that the shoguns law is the only way and any other way is at best wrong and at worst blasphemous. Even though his methods are failing he still insists on them because that's just the way it has to be.
The shogun (being the grandparent) is never fully proud of their child and their tolerance for mistakes is damn near none, even though they are responsible for the failures of their child. Shimura rallies the five clans and goes to battle the way he is taught (and forced tbh) and predictably fails. The shogun is mad because his child failed, even though that is the way they themselves would've done it. The children (being Jin and people of Tsushima) try to find another way to solve the problem but the father is mad that his child didn't follow their teachings and that of their grandfather. The same teachings that failed them and harmed them.
So the grandfather is not happy with the father, the father is not happy with his children, and the problem remains unsolved. No matter what you do someone will be majorly upset. So you're presented with a few option.
A: The father rebels (as in not following the code, not straight up rebellion) against the grandfather, saving himself and his children but drawing the anger of the grandfather.
B: The children rebel against the father, drawing the anger of both the father and the grandparent.
C: Sticking to the grandfathers teaching.
Option A is impossible, because the grandparent has such a tight grip on their child mentally that the child won't even think of going against them. So you only have B and C, and only one of them solves the problem at hand.
The only option that might end with someone of the three being happy is option C, where the child rebels and saves themselves before they end up like their parent.
That's why through two playthroughs of the game I always chose to spare Shimura. Not because I hate him or wish harm on him, but because I refuse to be in the crossfire of the toxic relationship between him and the shogun (Grandparent and parent). And in killing him I'm just putting myself in that crossfire.
TL:DR: Shogun is old angry grandfather and Shimura is pushover child, harming their own child in the process..etc.
I don't even know why I wrote this but I couldn't get it out of my head just how similar that dynamic was to a toxic 3 generation relationship. Please comment your thoughts in this if it interested you.

Product-based companies rely on television advertising as televisions are used by the majority of the population. While I have no problem with advertising targeting teens and adults, I do not think advertising directed toward young children should be allowed. There are two reasons why I feel this way, both of which I will elaborate on in the following essay.
My parents often tell me how obsessed I was as a kid with beyblades, which were advertised quite aggressively at the time. We weren't financially comfortable back then, but as a child, I didn't understand the difficulties my parents were going through. I threw tantrums over wanting those toys till they ended up agreeing. It is surprising to imagine being that demanding at that age. The fact that ads could capture the imagination of a five year old to such an extent is scary. When my parents got me the beyblade, I didn't play with it for more than a week. I didn't have the critical thinking skills needed to dissect an ad and know if I actually wanted the thing, rather than mindlessly believing the ad saying I did.
Moreover, targeting little children like that feels ethically wrong to me. I have a young niece who was convinced that the Lego sets turned into real animals because of how the game was depicted in the ad. Children at that age tend to have imaginative minds and innocence. Directing advertisements toward them when they don't have the necessary aptitude for skepticism and rationality is harmful for them. Not getting what they want puts a strain on both the parents and the kids. Evoking such ugly emotions out of children is dangerous for society and could have potentially harmful effects on them in the long term.

Most recent one was especially painful. We really understood each other and he was so kind to me but towards the final month it was just so agonisingly anxiety-inducing I couldn't "be there" with him, I just dissociated out of panic because we didn't have a label or talk about what we were. The last time I got so stressed that we were in a restaurant and I had to go to the bathroom and throw up out of panic, then when I cam back I literally couldn't look at him so I walked out the restaurant and said I'd be back in five. Anyway later we had a chat and he said he wasn't sure, and I said if he wasn't sure now he never would be. And he said he'd been confused but didn't want to say anything for fear of losing me because he liked spending time with me and when I told him we wouldn't be friends and I'd no longer talk to him, he got upset.

I’ve been trying to get my girlfriend into anime and I’ve made some progress but I need help finding some good ones. She’s put off by the sexualization of minors and some of the more weird stuff in anime, and isn’t the biggest fan of fantasy.

Here are the anime she’s seen that she liked:
- Anything Ghibli She had seen some Ghibli movies and liked them except for Spirited Away
- Your Name, Weathering With You, Suzume Honestly these movies are just amazing, she liked the soundtrack, animation, and the stories that were (mostly) grounded in reality. These even got her most listened to on Spotify to be Radwimps.
- Your Lie In April We both have musical backgrounds so this was a no brainer. While the characters were frustrating for her at times, the personal story really connected with both of us.
- Attack on Titan She had tried watching it on her own before but couldn’t get past the first few episodes. Having seen up to season 4 myself I convinced her to give it another go and we are now past where I stopped watching. The constant twists and turns, lovable/hate-able characters, amazing soundtrack, and the scale of the story was really engaging for both of us.
- The Promised Neverland I personally loved the first season and I honestly don’t remember why she didn’t like it but we didn’t watch more than one episode together.
- The Devil is a Part Timer She thought it was hilarious and we got through a chunk of the first season in one or two nights, but she was weirded out as Mao got more involved with Chiho. We’re going to give this one another shot though.
- DeathNote Started out too slow for her. We stopped watching before episode 7. Going to give this one another shot when we finish Attack on Titan maybe.
- Spy Family Really enjoyed the parts with just Loyd and Yor but when the story shifted over to Anya she lost interest. She does want to give this one another try though.

hi bromos, stuck and in need of advice.
i (31 f) met my partner (31 m) while working overseas thousands of kilometers away from home. He was born and raised here. we got married 2 years after in 2020 after a bit of a rollercoaster (in which I should have known not to end up with him I guess).
before getting married, I asked him to get an STI test as I was never sexually active, and he was (raw at times). he got super offended and ignored my request. I didn't think much of it. we got married and I lost my virginity to him. I felt excruciating pain having sex with him. I finally went to the gyno and did tests and low and behold I found out I had an STI. it was so upsetting. and he ruined my first sexual experience. I confronted him about this and he said "great, now you're gonna hold this against me for the rest of my life". no accountability, no remorse, no compassion for what I just had to go thru because his ego was to large to just do the damn test.
the medication/antibiotics I was given apparently helps with fertility as well and I was pregnant within 3 months of us getting married. I was mortified. and scared. and anxious. I told my husband and he was so supportive in the moment. later on the same day, he yelled at me for his car tire popping and was in a mood the whole night we were out.
my pregnancy was a disaster in terms of support from him. not understanding how to be patient with me. making me feel shit. he kept blaming work for being the culprit. didn't help me plan anything or buy anything for our son.
I gave birth via c-section during covid times and the country I'm in did not let anyone in the operating room except the mother and doctors. it was tough. while in the hospital recovering, my husband would sleep thru the night and have me wake up struggling to grab our baby if the nurses didn't answer in time. he'd wake up for a work call though. in the next month's I struggled waking him up at night to help me with our baby. I even ripped a stitch out because work was just being sooooo hard on him, poor guy /s.
whenever I speak to him about any sort of concerns or issues I have, he dismisses them and gaslights me for making a big deal out of nothing. he's emotionally abusive. and when I do finally break thru to him, he's so understanding and amazing for a total of maybe 1 week if I'm lucky. he tries to rebel against me as if I'm his mother. I'm sure he has me in the mother role since he is always thinking I'm "controlling him" by asking him how long he'll be out or where he's going.
parenting with him has only made me realize this is not the man I want. I had horrible postpartum anxiety and some depression and I had to pull thru because this man was sooo tweaked and removed from life. as though not really living. I kept begging him and asking him to go to therapy and if he doesn't go for himself let us go to couples therapy. he refused.
in August 2022 I gave an ultimatum. he finally saw a therapist. one that further advanced his ideas that I might be controlling. I was at my wits end. we finally saw a couples therapist. did about 3 sessions with him until I couldn't take it anymore. he's 2 different people. one in front of others, and one with me. everyone else gets his kind charming side, I get whatever's left over.
he does petty things and I know they're being done in petty ways - he gaslights and acts like he would NEVER do something like that.

I have so much resentment, this guy has left me high and dry so many times! he has resentment too but his shows way more than mine which has me thinking that I've never done anything remotely as bad to him as he has to me. I just don't want to be in this relationship anymore.

i (31 f) met my partner (31 m) while working overseas thousands of kilometers away from home. He was born and raised here. we got married 2 years after in 2020 after a bit of a rollercoaster (in which I should have known not to end up with him I guess).
before getting married, I asked him to get an STI test as I was never sexually active, and he was (raw at times). he got super offended and ignored my request. I didn't think much of it. we got married and I lost my virginity to him. I felt excruciating pain having sex with him. I finally went to the gyno and did tests and low and behold I found out I had an STI. it was so upsetting. and he ruined my first sexual experience. I confronted him about this and he said "great, now you're gonna hold this against me for the rest of my life". no accountability, no remorse, no compassion for what I just had to go thru because his ego was to large to just do the damn test.
the medication/antibiotics I was given apparently helps with fertility as well and I was pregnant within 3 months of us getting married. I was mortified. and scared. and anxious. I told my husband and he was so supportive in the moment. later on the same day, he yelled at me for his car tire popping and was in a mood the whole night we were out.
my pregnancy was a disaster in terms of support from him. not understanding how to be patient with me. making me feel shit. he kept blaming work for being the culprit. didn't help me plan anything or buy anything for our son.
I gave birth via c-section during covid times and the country I'm in did not let anyone in the operating room except the mother and doctors. it was tough. while in the hospital recovering, my husband would sleep thru the night and have me wake up struggling to grab our baby if the nurses didn't answer in time. he'd wake up for a work call though. in the next month's I struggled waking him up at night to help me with our baby. I even ripped a stitch out because work was just being sooooo hard on him, poor guy /s.
whenever I speak to him about any sort of concerns or issues I have, he dismisses them and gaslights me for making a big deal out of nothing. he's emotionally abusive. and when I do finally break thru to him, he's so understanding and amazing for a total of maybe 1 week if I'm lucky. he tries to rebel against me as if I'm his mother. I'm sure he has me in the mother role since he is always thinking I'm "controlling him" by asking him how long he'll be out or where he's going.
parenting with him has only made me realize this is not the man I want. I had horrible postpartum anxiety and some depression and I had to pull thru because this man was sooo tweaked and removed from life. as though not really living. I kept begging him and asking him to go to therapy and if he doesn't go for himself let us go to couples therapy. he refused.
in August 2022 I gave an ultimatum. he finally saw a therapist. one that further advanced his ideas that I might be controlling. I was at my wits end. we finally saw a couples therapist. did about 3 sessions with him until I couldn't take it anymore. he's 2 different people. one in front of others, and one with me. everyone else gets his kind charming side, I get whatever's left over.
he does petty things and I know they're being done in petty ways - he gaslights and acts like he would NEVER do something like that.

Since summer has started, I’m assuming that it’s a bit too late to apply now. I just graduated from college and I’m interested in being an English teacher in Japan. I read that early November is a good time to apply and so I can potentially be hired by the spring. I just have no clue where to start and which places I should apply to. I definitely want to apply to the JET program but I was also looking at Interac, IB English, etc. In addition, I only know some basic Japanese and I’m worried five months isn’t enough to be somewhat conversational. Does anyone have any advice, including budgeting and finances? How much money should I have before I go to Japan? I am in the US.

The thing is, I did this on a brand that already did over a million in sales the year before. I got a bunch of messages from people that don't already have established brands but thought they could benefit from organic traffic. So I made this post, I'll explain exactly how you can generate sales with literally nothing other than time and a website.
Quick disclaimer, it's 10x harder to make your first 10 sales if you don't have a marketing budget or an existing audience to market to. You're going to have to consistently spend multiple hours a day working to accomplish anything. Not just mindless work either, you're going to have to be a critical thinker and have a basic understanding of human psychology to see any type of success using these methods. If you don't have time to do that, you won't see any results from these methods and you might as well stop reading now.
Now that we've cleared that up let's get to the good stuff. Here's how you make your first 10 sales without spending any money on marketing.
In order to get sales you need traffic. You can't test anything or sell anything if no one visits your site.
So here are 3 ways to generate traffic for free:
1. Become a member of the community that your customers interact in
In my last post, I explained how I built a community from scratch, but at this point, I'm assuming you don't have time to spend 3 months building a community if you haven't even proven that anyone wants to buy your products. So I'm going to teach you how to piggyback off existing communities.
It is easier said than done, but 1 good post can get easily get you your first 5 sales. You can do this on Reddit, in Facebook groups, or any other type of niche relevant group/forum. If the people in these communities think you're trying to sell something you'll probably just get banned and people will actually get mad at you for trying to sell your products. The trick is being a casual, you want to put yourself in the shoes of your ideal customer. Don't even mention your products in your first 2-3 posts. Maybe ask niche relevant questions, or provide value in comments under other people's posts and show people that you have a genuine interest in the topic. Think of this like warming up your account.
Now when it's time to sell, you do it in the most discreet way possible. The better your product is, the easier it is to do this. This is the fastest way to find out if your product is actually useful and if there's actually demand for your product. The best way to promote your product and create brand recognition is with lifestyle content. Never post a product photo with a white background in a community group. NEVER!
I'll give you a few examples of how to post product pics correctly:
Example 1
niche: dog niche
product: dog collar
You take a dog to a beautiful place. Maybe a beach by the water and you get a whole photoshoot with the dog. Bring lots of treats and showcase a happy dog wearing the collar you sell. Now you don't post the entire photoshoot in the group. You post 1 picture, not necessarily the best picture or the most professional looking one. You want to post the picture that evokes the most emotion. It's the picture with the dog making a funny face, or another dog sniffing your dog's butt, or the pic with your dog in bliss chewing his favorite treat that goes viral. Pick a picture that'll start a discussion and reply to every single comment. Then, once the post does well, without a doubt someone will ask about your product. That's when you come in and give a shoutout to the site that you got it from. If no one does this, you can literally create a fake account and ask/answer the question on your own. You're basically creating the perception of product demand.
Example 2
niche: food and beverage/electronics
Product: digital thermometer
Imagine... It's steak night, you fire up the BBQ and you want the perfect steaks! We're selling the dream of a perfectly cooked steak, not a digital thermometer. You post 2 pictures. Picture 1 is the steak on the grill with the thermometer showing the perfect temperature. Picture 2 shows the perfectly sliced steak being served. Try to capture someone that stirs emotions in the picture, whether it's a happy grandma, a kid with the steak on his fork, or a hungry pet drooling and looking at your plate. Emotion is what sells the product. Make sure you have a caption that conveys the message that you're trying to send. Use something short and simple but also try your best to convey a story. Further, convey the imagery in the comments ex. "Inlaws are over, got this thermometer to make sure everything was cooked perfectly, Now everyone thinks I actually know how to cook."
Example 3
Niche: candles
Product: candle
"Midterms are around the corner, sparked my favorite scent to set the mood tonight" (caption for the post in studying group or collage group) + a picture of an opened textbook and candle in the background, but you can clearly still see the candle label. This example is for the people who have general products. It may actually be harder for you to sell a candle in a candle subreddit because there are just too many options. So you get into the mind of your customers, you imagine the scenario your customer is in when they use your product, and you sell the feeling of enjoying the product in a situation that they've experienced before.
In the comments, you describe the scent in detail and you talk about how you prefer this candle over the one you got at Bath and Body Works because it's made from natural materials.
If you do this right, consistently. Eventually one of your posts will go viral and without a doubt that will convert into a sale.
2. Grow social media organically
This is a lot easier if you can afford to order the product that you sell. But it's still possible to make this work if you can't get the product in your hands.
With this method, you're essentially picking up a new part-time job. You are now a social media manager, you work 20 hours a week and create and post new content on multiple platforms every single day. You want to take advantage of platforms that favor new accounts. A great place to start is Tiktok but Instagram reels is pretty good too. Tiktok boosts the reach of new accounts, you can see a lot of success blitzing a new Tiktok account (2-5 posts a day). The Instagram algorithm boosts accounts that post a lot of reels because for a good while Tiktok was destroying them with short-term content. (Fun fact this feud between platforms is so deep that if you make a video on Tiktok and you cross-post it on Instagram without removing the Tiktok watermark, the Instagram algorithm will suppress the reach of the video)
You want to focus on making short videos with a focus on real-life use cases of your product. I'd break this down into 3 steps.
A. Research
B. Content Testing
C. Doubling down on what gets traction
It can take weeks or even months to get a good feel for how to create engaging content. The true key is consistency. At the end of the day, it's gonna come down to volume. Not just any volume, but a high volume of quality content. Whatever platform that you decide to use, I suggest watching at least 4 hours of content on youtube from experts on the platform. You'll pick up a bunch of tricks and tips. It's important that you understand how the algorithm works on different platforms to see any type of success doing this. I wouldn't suggest attempting to scale on more than 3 platforms at once. In fact, it's actually better to focus on 1 platform and do it well over splitting your time into other platforms trying to scale 3 pages at the same time. Don't spread yourself too thin.
3. Elite cart protection
If you do under 10k a month most email marketing is irrelevant. People with startup brands book calls with me all the time and I tell them the same thing. You need traffic before there's anything I can do to help you other than give some basic advice. However, there are 3 automated email flows that actually can make an impact at this point. These flows are the welcome series, the abandoned cart, and the browse abandonment. Most email platforms are free and they charge based on volume. So in most cases, this won't cost you anything. Sites like Klaviyo make it very easy to set up the basics. Don't overthink this at all, at this point you don't need beautiful designs or stand-out copywriting. You simply need to just follow up with the interested potential customers that visit your site. A healthy store converts 3% of its traffic, 7/10 people who add things to their cart don't complete a purchase. You have a second chance at converting 97% of the people that visit your site if you actually follow up with them.
I've made entire posts about how to set flows up correctly so I won't be expanding on this much more.

I was always fascinated by that story ever since seeing Balto an impressionable young child, and still love the animated film. Togo, deserves to have much part and be recognized just as much as Balto on bringing the miracle to Nome during that dark time in history and almost cost lives that day. And something I didn't known when watching a documentary on Togo. Seppla and Togo crossed the Norton Sound twice, the first part I knew, but what I didn't know is when crossing the frozen Sound back through, they crossed it in pitch black night, while the ice of the Sound was breaking apart. :O I never ugly cried on a dog movie until I watched Togo. Air Bud usually gets me to shed tears, but now, Togo takes the cake on that. How that dog never gave up even when he was suffering and slowly dying. Togo really was a heart of a survivor. If you are a dog lover at all, and have never seen Togo before, fair warning now, this film will make you cry or even ugly cry. I showed it to my family, and everyone in my living room was ugly, crying towards the end. And this film, as well as the 1995 animated film gave me a better appreciation of all the teams involved (19) in the original 1925 serum run relay that saved the town of Nome, Alaska from a deadly pandemic. Emotion is what sells the product. Make sure you have a caption that conveys the message that you're trying to send. Use something short and simple but also try your best to convey a story. Further, convey the imagery in the comments ex. "Inlaws are over, got this thermometer to make sure everything was cooked perfectly, Now everyone thinks I actually know how to cook."
Example 3
Niche: candles
Product: candle
"Midterms are around the corner, sparked my favorite scent to set the mood tonight" (caption for the post in studying group or collage group) + a picture of an opened textbook and candle in the background, but you can clearly still see the candle label. This example is for the people who have general products. It may actually be harder for you to sell a candle in a candle subreddit because there are just too many options. So you get into the mind of your customers, you imagine the scenario your customer is in when they use your product, and you sell the feeling of enjoying the product in a situation that they've experienced before.
In the comments, you describe the scent in detail and you talk about how you prefer this candle over the one you got at Bath and Body Works because it's made from natural materials.
If you do this right, consistently. Eventually one of your posts will go viral and without a doubt that will convert into a sale.
2. Grow social media organically
This is a lot easier if you can afford to order the product that you sell. But it's still possible to make this work if you can't get the product in your hands.
With this method, you're essentially picking up a new part-time job. You are now a social media manager, you work 20 hours a week and create and post new content on multiple platforms every single day. You want to take advantage of platforms that favor new accounts. A great place to start is Tiktok but Instagram reels is pretty good too. Tiktok boosts the reach of new accounts, you can see a lot of success blitzing a new Tiktok account (2-5 posts a day). The Instagram algorithm boosts accounts that post a lot of reels because for a good while Tiktok was destroying them with short-term content. (Fun fact this feud between platforms is so deep that if you make a video on Tiktok and you cross-post it on Instagram without removing the Tiktok watermark, the Instagram algorithm will suppress the reach of the video)
You want to focus on making short videos with a focus on real-life use cases of your product. I'd break this down into 3 steps.
A. Research
B. Content Testing
C. Doubling down on what gets traction
It can take weeks or even months to get a good feel for how to create engaging content. The true key is consistency. At the end of the day, it's gonna come down to volume. Not just any volume, but a high volume of quality content. Whatever platform that you decide to use, I suggest watching at least 4 hours of content on youtube from experts on the platform. You'll pick up a bunch of tricks and tips. It's important that you understand how the algorithm works on different platforms to see any type of success doing this. I wouldn't suggest attempting to scale on more than 3 platforms at once. In fact, it's actually better to focus on 1 platform and do it well over splitting your time into other platforms trying to scale 3 pages at the same time. Don't spread yourself too thin.
3. Elite cart protection
If you do under 10k a month most email marketing is irrelevant. People with startup brands book calls with me all the time and I tell them the same thing. You need traffic before there's anything I can do to help you other than give some basic advice. However, there are 3 automated email flows that actually can make an impact at this point. These flows are the welcome series, the abandoned cart, and the browse abandonment. Most email platforms are free and they charge based on volume. So in most cases, this won't cost you anything. Sites like Klaviyo make it very easy to set up the basics. Don't overthink this at all, at this point you don't need beautiful designs or stand-out copywriting. You simply need to just follow up with the interested potential customers that visit your site. A healthy store converts 3% of its traffic, 7/10 people who add things to their cart don't complete a purchase. You have a second chance at converting 97% of the people that visit your site if you actually follow up with them.

Quick disclaimer, it's 10x harder to make your first 10 sales if you don't have a marketing budget or an existing audience to market to. You're going to have to consistently spend multiple hours a day working to accomplish anything. Not just mindless work either, you're going to have to be a critical thinker and have a basic understanding of human psychology to see any type of success using these methods. If you don't have time to do that, you won't see any results from these methods and you might as well stop reading now.
Now that we've cleared that up let's get to the good stuff. Here's how you make your first 10 sales without spending any money on marketing.
In order to get sales you need traffic. You can't test anything or sell anything if no one visits your site.
So here are 3 ways to generate traffic for free:
1. Become a member of the community that your customers interact in
In my last post, I explained how I built a community from scratch, but at this point, I'm assuming you don't have time to spend 3 months building a community if you haven't even proven that anyone wants to buy your products. So I'm going to teach you how to piggyback off existing communities.
It is easier said than done, but 1 good post can get easily get you your first 5 sales. You can do this on Reddit, in Facebook groups, or any other type of niche relevant group/forum. If the people in these communities think you're trying to sell something you'll probably just get banned and people will actually get mad at you for trying to sell your products. The trick is being a casual, you want to put yourself in the shoes of your ideal customer. Don't even mention your products in your first 2-3 posts. Maybe ask niche relevant questions, or provide value in comments under other people's posts and show people that you have a genuine interest in the topic. Think of this like warming up your account.
Now when it's time to sell, you do it in the most discreet way possible. The better your product is, the easier it is to do this. This is the fastest way to find out if your product is actually useful and if there's actually demand for your product. The best way to promote your product and create brand recognition is with lifestyle content. Never post a product photo with a white background in a community group. NEVER!
I'll give you a few examples of how to post product pics correctly:
Example 1
niche: dog niche
product: dog collar
You take a dog to a beautiful place. Maybe a beach by the water and you get a whole photoshoot with the dog. Bring lots of treats and showcase a happy dog wearing the collar you sell. Now you don't post the entire photoshoot in the group. You post 1 picture, not necessarily the best picture or the most professional looking one. You want to post the picture that evokes the most emotion. It's the picture with the dog making a funny face, or another dog sniffing your dog's butt, or the pic with your dog in bliss chewing his favorite treat that goes viral. Pick a picture that'll start a discussion and reply to every single comment. Then, once the post does well, without a doubt someone will ask about your product. That's when you come in and give a shoutout to the site that you got it from. If no one does this, you can literally create a fake account and ask/answer the question on your own. You're basically creating the perception of product demand.
Example 2
niche: food and beverage/electronics
Product: digital thermometer

Last night while I was at my friends house in my area for a get together my car was broken into. I woke up at 10am and went out to my car to leave to see my driver door was cracked open. I look inside and low and behold my firearm was gone, my glove box was open, and my registration was sitting on my passenger seat, so they must know my name and some info from those papers. I locked my car that night so whoever got in it knew what they were doing. I honestly don’t know who it could have been, it would be hard to believe that it was someone that was there with me last night, but then again this area I live in isn’t one where outsiders would normally come to look through cars. (Out in the desert down a dirt road). I obviously reported it stolen with the serial number but does anyone have any other advice on what I should do?
