I (22f) have had to move back home after 2 years of living abroad, and some very unpleasant memories have been brought back. I haven't been able to stop crying when alone or feeling like shit about myself, so I'm here on a throwaway to get some help.
I live in a family with my parents and grandmother, my brother moved abroad 4 years ago.
When I was 8, my grandmother accused me of having an affair with a somebody's cook (I'm assuming at least 25 years old m) in our building. I faintly remember my grandmother rushing to my friends houses as I was playing with them, creating a scene and taking me back home. She created a huge thing at home, and only when my mom intervened saying that she will call the police my grandmother fully stopped bringing this up. No apologies, nothing. But I was 8, who the fuck does this?
I've had a strained relationship with her my whole life, we fight about everything, she's stolen my money ever since 2nd grade. Just overall, she's done pretty bad things to me. But she also has a habit of making up stories, like once she said she sees people dealing drugs in our building at 3am among few other stories she makes up in her head.
But she has also stayed up countless nights as I was ill, just being there for me, pressing my head, and caring for me. So I feel like maybe she isn't that bad? Like she actually cares about me. But it's so hard to believe that. She's made my feel pretty shit when it comes to my bua's children, and classic cases of favouritism. I've made my peace with not being loved, - sucks but thats life kinda thinking.
I don't know how to live with her without feeling inexplicable rage at every wrong thing she does, but my dad's recovering from a pretty big surgery and she takes care of him so I feel like I owe her a lot. I've been taking care of my dad too, but when my parents aren't around she'll say things like I'm the reason behind his illness and I've brought him a lot of pain (he found out about my relationship in 10th grade and didn't speak to me for a month and never really trusted me after it for three years, but its been 8 years we're now on very good terms). But she makes me feel like shit for just existing.
I'm trying my best to move back abroad (applying to jobs), but I still have to live home for some time now and I'm tired of all the crying while hiding because I am really hurt. Does anybody have any advice on how I should process these feelings, I would think it is past trauma that hurts me so deeply, I'm going to see a therapist once I earn some money, but for now on I don't know how to function normally when I feel so deeply wronged by my family members, not just my grandmom, but also my parents for some reason, feeling like they could've done better. But they have also been there for me and also invested so much money in me (my masters abroad), so it must mean they trust me and have some faith in me? or just love me, not unconditionally, but still love me?
I'm sorry if this is incoherent but I'm really trying to move on and desperately need advice.

I’m sure most of you have seen many similar posts to this one, but I just need to rant! This rant is simply out of passion. I love this game, but it is extremely flawed, I just want my voice heard, even though Tencent won’t listen.
I first played Unite about 2 weeks after launch, and I never picked it up again until December. When I started playing again, I had tons of fun! I loved the gameplay and I loved coordinating with two of my friends in voice call. I was hooked. However, that spark for the game is almost completely gone. While the core gameplay is fine, my two biggest issues are bot matches and balancing.
I often get stuck in a loop while playing Standard matches. 1. I lose to a team 2. I’m forced to play against bots 3. I win and go back to playing against humans 4. I go against a team with someone using a meta character.
This loop is so incredibly boring throughout all of it, which makes the gameplay lacklustre. Fighting against Comfey & Rapid-Urshifu/Zacian, where it feels like I cannot do anything, to then be put against bots where I am (almost) guaranteed a win is so incredibly boring. The bot system is extremely scummy and the meta has a huge gap in balancing right now. I am very close to uninstalling the game because of this.

My(22f) Mom (53) almost died the other night and I still can't get the image out of my head. I am currently home for the summer having just finished my last spring semester of college. My mom who is still pretty young has been plagued with a lot of health issues in the past year and her drinking and smoking don't help her medical issues (she is trying to cut back). She has recently been diagnosised with severe osteoporosis, anemia and multiple vitamin deficiencies, she has been prescribed a lot of medication for this. She found out about her osteoporosis after her husband (M we will call him) slammed her against the wall when he was drunk and fractured 2 discs in her lower back (I have always hated him and I have never viewed him as a father he has always been abusive towards my mother). The other night (5/23/23) after dinner I was in my room playing a video game with my friends when I heard gasping through my headphones. My mom has had a long history of ranging asthma attacks but this one was worse. No one heard her banging on the counter for help. I walked out of my room and down the hall about maybe 2-3 feet when I round the corner and see my mom on the floor, I ran to the back of the house and yelled at M "Mom is on the floor I need her inhaler" he grabs her inhaler and quickly follows be back to the kitchen. I look closer at my mom at this point and see that she is starting to turn blue and not breathing. I don't know what took over me in that moment but I was oddly calm, I adjusted my mom and started doing CPR on her (I have never done CPR on a real person only on dummies in highschool). I yelled at M to call 911. I don't remember how many compressions I did on her to start but I remember giving her 2 breaths and the sound that it made still haunts me after the two breaths I kept doing compressions till her eyes opened back up and I stopped and grabbed her hand and told her to squeeze my hand in hers. I remember turning her on her side into the recovery position as I listened to her labored breathing the EMTs rushed in and took over. I remember sitting on the cold kitchen floor watching my mom come back to her surroundings, I remember her looking at me pissed as she realized she was surrounded by paramedics checking her pulse and heart rate, arguing with them that she was fine. I kept telling her that she needed to go, that I had to give her CPR that she was turning blue and she refused, I walked to my room and called my older brother telling him to tell mom to go. She was eventually cleared by the paramedics after reporting her vitals back to the on call doctor. My mom hates hospitals and refuses to go to them. I sat out in the living room with her for a few hours after that and she eventually got up and went to bed. I checked on her every hour to make sure that she was still breathing while she was asleep. The next morning when I woke up I went to walk out into the kitchen to get myself breakfast and had a flashback of seeing her on the ground me over her giving her CPR and started having a panic attack (I have had these over the years before but not nearly as bad as this was). Since then I haven't been able to really sleep, everytime I close my eyes I see her dying in my arms and hear myself counting the compression echoing in my head, and her getting further and further away from me. I have to go check on her every hour and make sure she is still breathing, I don't end up falling asleep until 5am when she usually gets up and starts her day and I know M will be up as well.
I know that this isn't healthy or good for me and I am trying to get in to see my doctor to get a referral to see a new therapist. I have only told a couple of people about this primarily my Brother (23) and boyfriend (23), I have told 2 of my friends. Nothing will ever prepare you for the trauma of having to perform CPR on a real person but especially when it's you own mother.

i’m sorry if this is a stupid post, but i need help.
my last period was april 8th and i have still yet to start my period OR get a positive pregnancy test. i’m not on birth control, we only use condoms. i believe i ovulated around the last week of april/beginning of may, but i am not sure as i do not temp check. i’m also worried because once (after we thought i was not ovulating), we had raw sex (yes, stupid). i’m also worried because i had a tiny tiny bit of spotting on may 12th. plus, i have tender breasts. however, i have tested every day for the past 2 weeks and have gotten all negatives.
i’m in no place to have a baby, i’m only 17 and about to head to college. i’m crazy stressed and am wondering if there’s any possible way i could be pregnant or if i should be worried something else is wrong.

I’m just wondering how to use this big killing machine in a most destructive and effective way? I played him already 2 times, but still have the feeling that he is bit mid. What would you suggest to pull the most out of this beast. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

Starting “talking” to this guy about 2 months ago. Everything was fine, and then he ghosted. Of course I’m left feeling like I did something, etc. Sent a last text message asking if I had done something. No reply, okay I’m moving on.
Three weeks later I get a couple messages from him saying he really wanted and needed to talk to me. I don’t say anything for a couple days since I didn’t know what to say. Finally, I reply and we start talking again. Hours long conversations, even more so than before he ghosted.
I noticed beginning on Wednesday he wasn’t talking again. Okay, fine. Sent a couple messages on Thursday and then I didn’t bother on Friday and most of Saturday. Finally, I call him out. At first he doesn’t say anything until I ask him if I’m wasting my time. I told him I wouldn’t think anything of this, except for the fact that he’s done this once before. All of his responses were only a few words but he said that I wasn’t wasting my time. He wanted to be friends and romantically involved. I got so fed up with his half-assed responses to my genuine concern I told him that he can call me instead to express himself, but until then don’t bother messaging me.
Also, when he told me the reason for his lack of response was being busy that can keep him from talking for days. I asked him why he didn’t just say so. His reply was he hadn’t thought to?? Am I right in thinking that’s a little disrespectful only in the way that when you’re trying to build a relationship with someone you should consider letting them know instead of ignoring them?

TL:DR Contemplating buying a vacation home first where I’d spend 2-4 days/week and downsizing on a rental for work. I want to know if this is a terrible idea.
Background: M(34) & F(30) engaged. Not great with money but have high paying jobs and have been lucky.
We live in SF (rent: $5k/month) and work in the South Bay near San Jose. HHI is ~$400k/year but after taxes, espp, retirement accounts we bring in ~$16k/month. Frankly, we don’t carry much saving from month/month because we are planning a wedding right now but we do max out our 401k’s and “save” ~10% of our income leveraging our company’s espp program. In total, we have ~$1M in the stock market (concentrated in a few stocks), ~$250k in 401k, and $200k cash in a HYSA with $30k in student loans, which are paused but I’m still paying them as if they weren’t paused.
We hate the commute and want to get closer to work but don’t really like the South Bay(not worth the cost). We only have to go into work a few days a week, so we’ve been considering AirBnbing/getting a cheap rental (~$1.8k) for when we need to be in the office and then buy a house in Tahoe (we think we can afford a ~$1.2M home) where we would live most of the time. We figure we don’t want to commit to the South Bay if we don’t think it is a long term solution and we loved living in Tahoe for a year during Covid. Plus eventually if we decide we need to live somewhere else for work/family we can use it as a vacation/rental home.
Question: Is this a terrible idea? Are we taking on more than we can financially handle? Anything else I should be considering? Should I wait for interest rates to come down? Should I sell stocks now while they are still down to put 20% down vs 16%? Should we just bite the bullet and buy some crappy expensive place in the South Bay even if we don’t think we’ll stay there for more than 5yrs?

So I first started taking the mini pill last July at first I got a very light period every other week for a month then it levelled off to every 2-3 months. I got a period in February then nothing until the beginning of may. End of April I decide I wanted to lose some weight and since I’ve been eating less and moved more. About a week into that I got a period but didn’t think much of it. Until it went away for a week then came back. Those two periods were pretty light. Now a week later and I’m on my third of the month but it’s how my periods used to be heavy and painful (which is the reason I liked this pill as it virtually stopped them)
This really sucks, I’m limited in choice of birth control and the mini pills been really good up until now. Could anyone give me any insight to whether this could be related to losing weight making the pill work differently maybe? I have an appointment coming up for a repeat prescription so I’m going to ask then but wondering if anyone has experienced similar as all I’m finding online is periods stopping from weight loss.

Nearly 2 months ago, I left my apartment and moved back home with my parents. I filled out a change of address form at my local USPS to have all of my mail that’s routed to my old apartment to my Parent’s house.
2 weeks ago, I temporarily moved from my parents house to another city. I have an important piece of mail being addressed to where I currently reside (the new city). Will this mail arrive to my current residence or will it be forwarded to my parents house?
I don’t want to fill out another change of address because I’m only here temporarily, a couple months at max.

So basically, I have a really cool campaign idea I want to try DMing with friends, but: 1.) I’m inexperienced as a player, even 2.) It would involve almost all homebrew content, let alone the regular game stuff
So this campaign idea wouldn’t come to fruition for a while. I plan on fleshing it out while I play a different campaign with (hopefully) the same people who would play this one, and I also plan on asking help on here as I do that :)
The main thing I want to ask now is how to start “exercising” to be a DM. I know probably the DM guidebook, but what can I do? Do I do premade one shots and build up to one shots made by myself, then up to the big campaign? If so, what are some “starter one shots” or “starter campaigns” to try?
Also a little bit about my campaign idea plus a question so I can start the long planning process: it takes place in WW2. Not reflavored as WW2, but an alternate WW2 with magic. The Germans are looking for an artifact or ritual for immortality, and the party is a special ops team tasked with stopping them. Magic and modern technology both exist and are utilized, but magic is more powerful and can enhance modern tech like guns.
I’m wondering how to reflavor some classes into soldiers. Maybe the fighter, Paladin, and barbarian can be soldiers with different specialities? And a rogue can be secret agent, but I would want the magic classes to remain mostly the same. Does this make sense, or should I do something different? There’s also the question of if it should even take place in WW2 or if it should be WW1. If you all have any advice on this stuff or how to plan this idea out, I would appreciate it.

Just wanted to make folks aware of my current situation with an order from Experience Vinyl.
Back in February, I ordered The Mars Volta’s Frances the Mute, De-Loused in the Comatorium, Amputecture and Nocturniquet. I don’t recall any of them not being out of stock/preorder at the time.
After a few days with no notification of shipping, I checked the website again - two of the records had changed to preorder, with one stating expected date 2/24, the other 4/31. Odd. But things happen. So I reached out to ask if I would have to wait until all records were in stock before they would be shipped. Experience Vinyl shipped out the two (now) in stock records. But they were shipped 2/27, and the 2/24 record was still stating 2/24 on 2/27.
I waited until 4/31 passed. Mid May I checked the website again - the records were still stating 2/24 and 4/31! I contacted Experience Vinyl again. They said they would check with the label that Monday. No response after that. I have just checked again today - STILL 2/24 AND 4/31 FOR THE EXPECTED DATES! So I can only surmise that the above was not actioned - you’d expect to update the website info if the dates had changed, right?
I have now sent them an email stating my displeasure at having a poor experience with them. All payment had been taken at point of order, by the way.
I get that things happen, and everybody deserves a chance to put things right. But to now be on chase-up number 3, months after the order was placed, is not putting things right. I’m not after free stuff or anything - I just want an updated expectation as to when I’m going to receive the products I’ve paid for.
I’m sure many of you have good experiences with them. This has been my first, and is unfortunately likely to be my last.

At least prior to ww2, the common convention for determining the “gender” of a tank was its main armament. If it possessed only a machine gun, it was female, it it possessed a cannon, it was male. So does that mean IFVs, the panzer 2, or any vehicle with a auto cannon are transgender? I’m curious
